Injection and withdrawal restrictions

Your storage contract is subject to injection and withdrawal restrictions. The restrictions are set up in accordance with clause 5.6 in the General Terms and Conditions Gas Storage (GTCGS) in the version applicable at any time.

 

Please note that the restrictions are global (not individual).

SY 2024 - 2025

INJECTION RESTRICTION

  • 75% of the injection capacity is available when the storage filling is 9,331 GWh (95% full) or more
  • All injection capacity is available when the storage filling is below 9,331 GWh (95% full)

The injection restrictions for year 2024-2025 are illustrated in the following figure:

 

WITHDRAWAL RESTRICTIONS

  • 85% of the withdrawal capacity is available when the storage filling is at or below 1,964 GWh (20% full), 
  • 75% of the withdrawal capacity is available when the storage filling is at or below 1,473 GWh (15% full),
  • 50% of the withdrawal capacity is available when the storage filling is at or below 1,228 GWh (12.5% full),
  • 33% of the withdrawal capacity is available when the storage filling is at or below 982 GWh (10% full),
  • 25% of the withdrawal capacity is available when the storage filling is at or below 491 GWh (5% full).

INJECTION RESTRICTION

  • 75% of the injection capacity is available when the storage filling is 9,627 GWh (97% full) or more
  • All injection capacity is available when the storage filling is below 9,627 GWh (97% full)

WITHDRAWAL RESTRICTIONS

  • 94% of the withdrawal capacity is available when the storage filling is at or below 1,477 GWh (15% full),
  • 63% of the withdrawal capacity is available when the storage filling is at or below 1,231 GWh (12.5% full),
  • 41% of the withdrawal capacity is available when the storage filling is at or below 985 GWh (10% full),
  • 31% of the withdrawal capacity is available when the storage filling is at or below 492 GWh (5% full).

SY 2022 - 2023 1st update

Injection restrictions - updated due to increasing of the marketable storage capacity from 9231 GWh to 9573 GWh by incremental injection during November 2022, cf. Daily Auctioning November 2022.

Prior to the Daily Auctioning in November 2022, the marketed volume capacity has been just below the injection restriction level associated with filling level 9231 GWh. Therefore, GSD has announced that there will be no Injection Restrictions in storage year 2022-2023. However, with the additional injection of Natural Gas released in the daily auctions in November 2022, the Injection Restrictions will be activated when the filling level reaches 9573 GWh. The activation of the Injection Restrictions will be announced by GSD in due time.
